Salt Cross Garden Village is one more amazing project out of the cohort of thirteen projects integrating REGEN CIVICS Alliance, Season 1. It was in 2018 when it was proposed as a new garden village near Eynsham, within the West Oxfordshire District Council, UK, in response to the climate emergency, transport, biodiversity, housing affordability, infrastructure, and the potential impact of development on the surrounding area.
The plan is to have 110 self-build homes made up of three co-housing clusters. They have been working with regen-focused citizen-led groups to form around these sites. The cohousing is the minimum they want to see, with the full aim being the phased transfer of the land into a citizen-led trust.
